UPCOMING CLASSES Beginning Knitting: In this four week class you will learn all the basics of knitting - the knit stitch, the purl stitch, cast on, bind off, increasing and decreasing and more. The finished project is a beautiful sampler scarf. August classes are Wednesdays, August 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th from 12-2 PM. September classes are Thursdays, September 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th from 6-8 PM. Cost: $50.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Barb Beginning Crochet: This three session class will teach you the basics of the art of crochet. You will learn essential stitches and tips fo help you create three wash cloths, perfect for that holiday hostess gift. The history of the art and more advanced techniques will be discussed. The class is on Wednesdays, September 15th, 22nd, and 29th from 6-8 PM. Cost: $40.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Renee Advanced Beginners: Ready to make a sweater? In this class you will learn the next steps in knitting - reading patterns, checking gauge, knitting with double point needles (dpn), circular needles, and much more. The project is a top down sweater!! August classes begin Monday, August 2nd, and continues August 16th, 30th and September 20th from 6-8 PM. The September class begin Tuesday, September 14th and continues the 28th, October 12th and 26th from 12-2 PM. Cost:$50.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Barb Basic Socks: Using a straight forward formulas and a few simple measurements, you can knit socks with any weight yarn for any size foot. We will discuss gauge, custom fit, and basic sock construction, and working with double point needles. We will also review ways to incorporate stitch patterns for a fancier sock. Prerequisites: ability to knit, purl, and knit in the round. Previous expeience with double pointed needles is desirable. These classes fill quickly so sign up now! Instructor: Stephanie. Beginning Lace Knitting: Learn the construction and "tricks" of lace knitting while knitting Fiber Trends "Falling Leaves" Shawl. What a beauticul accessory nfor party or shoulder cover on a cool evening. Class begins Thursday, August 12th and continues the 19th and 26th from 6-8 PM. Cost: $40.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Phyllis Brea Sweater: Have you been admiring the beautiful cabled sweater from Rowan hanging in our shop? If so, now's your chance to knit it. This pattern comes in a range of sizes (32-50) and is flattering to a wide range of figures. Our sample is knit in Rowan's luxurious alpaca blend, Lima. This class will cover the basics of sweater knitting (Gauge, fit, pattern interpretation, chart reading and finishing detail). Pre-requisites: Student must be able to knit and purl with ease. Classes are Tuesdays, August 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th from 6-8 PM. A second set of classes will be offered on Fridays, September 10th, 17th, 24th, and October 1st from 12-2 PM. Instructor: Stephanie Cable Hat: In this two session class you will learn the technique of making cables without the use of a cable needle, while making a beautiful adult size hat in the round. Class is Saturdays, September 18th and 25th from 10:30-12:30 PM. Cost: $30.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Jackie Fair Ilse and Steeking: Learn the arta of fair ilse knitting and knitting a steek into the swatch. Then we will learn the crochet steek (cut your knitting to form a neckline, armhole, or cardigan)> This will be a fun aedventure for knitters. Class is Wednesdays, July 21st and 28th from 6-8 PM. Cost $30.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Jan Felted Clogs: Friber Trends' Felted Clogs are wonderful for cold winter nights. Knit your now so you are ready! Learn the art of short rows and felting. Classes are Mondays, September 13th, 20th, and 27th from 6-8 PM. Cost: $40.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Beth Great Ameican Aran Afghan: This once a month class continues on Wednesday, August 11th and September 8th from 6-8 PM. Join us for one class or all of them. Cost $15.00 per class plus supplies. Instructors: All of us! Mobius Trifold: Create a unique mobius bowl that will be the center of attraction on any table! Classes are Wednesdays, August 18th and 25th from 6-8 PM. Cost: $30.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Beth Noni Bag: This bag is beautiful enough to be use as a handbag of a knitting bag. Techniques being taught are knitting in the round and felting. Classes are Wednesdays, September 15th, 22nd, and 29th from 6-8 PM. Cost: $40.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Barb Preventing and Fixing Mistakes: Spend a day learning to fix and/or prevent mistakes. You will become more confident with your knitting ability. Class is Saturday, August 21st from 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM with a break for lunch. Pre-work will be "assigned". Cost: $30.00. Instructor: Phyllis Socks 2.0: Are you bored with plain ribbed or stockinette socks? Ready to take your sock knitting to the next level? The leg of a sock is the perfect place to incorporate intersting textures and this class will show you how. You may choose from lace, cables, or knit/purl patterns, which will be provided. We will discuss custom fit, gauge, and suitable fingering weight yarns. You will have he option of knitting your socks using double points, 2 circular needles, or Magic Loop. Don't let a dislike of double pointed needles prevent you from knitting socks! Pre-requisite: must have knit at least two pair of socks prior to this class. Class begins Tuesday, September 14th and continues on the 21st, 28th and October 5th from 6-8 PM. Cost: $50.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Stephanie Sweater of Choice: Is there a sweater you have been wanting to make, but where afraid to tackle? This class will offer assistance in making your sweater of choice. Classes are Monday, August 9th, 23rd, September 13th and 27th from 6-8 PM. September classes are Tuesdays, September 7th, 21st, October 5th, and 19th from 12-2 PM. Cost: $50.00 plus supplies. Instructor: Barb Private Lessons: If you are procrastinating on finishing a project, want to learn a new technique or just simply want one-on-one instruction, a private lession might be helpful.
